Members of the band are very involved in promotion of Irish culture in
Poland. They cooperate with Polish-Irish Society and organize regular Irish
music sessions.
The band debuted in 2004 at the Celtic Culture Festival in Dowspuda, Poland.
They made appearances at the most important festivals of Celtic music in
Poland and Austria including “The Castle” Festival in Bedzin (2005, 2006,
2007, 2008), “Magic Green Islands” Folk Festival in Cracow (2004), “Celtic
Echoes” in Warsaw (2005, 2006), “Dowspuda” Festival (2007),
“Wackelsteinfestival” in Austria (2009) and have played many individual
concerts all around Poland and abroad ( Germany 2008, Austria 2009).
In December 2006 Danar won a special award for their interesting
arrangements at the XVI International Folk Music Festival “Mikolajki
Folkowe” in Lublin – the biggest folk festival in Poland. At the XVII
“Mikolajki Folkowe” in December 2007 band's percussionist Patrycja Napierala
won a prize for the best instrumentalist.
